How to Cancel Your Netflix Subscription

Cancelling Netflix takes under 2 minutes — but only if you know where to look. Here is the exact process for every device, plus what to do if you signed up through a third party.

How to cancel Netflix on a computer (the fastest way)

This works on any browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox — on Mac or Windows.

01Go to netflix.com and sign in
02Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
03Select Account from the dropdown
04Under Membership, click Cancel Membership
05Click Finish Cancellation to confirm

You will keep access to Netflix until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged after that.

How to cancel Netflix on a phone or tablet

Netflix does not let you cancel through its iOS or Android app. You have two options:

Option A — Use your phone browser
Open Safari or Chrome on your phone, go to netflix.com, and follow the same steps as above. Make sure you are on the full site, not the app.
Option B — Use a desktop or laptop
The simplest option. Log in at netflix.com on any computer and cancel from there.

How to cancel Netflix if you signed up through Apple

If you originally signed up through the App Store, your billing goes through Apple — not Netflix. You must cancel through Apple, not the Netflix website.

01Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
02Tap your name at the top
03Tap Subscriptions
04Find Netflix and tap it
05Tap Cancel Subscription

Not sure which way you signed up? If you go to netflix.com → Account and do not see a Cancel Membership button, your billing is through a third party (Apple, Google, or your TV provider).

How to cancel Netflix if you signed up through Google Play

01Open the Google Play Store app
02Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
03Find Netflix and tap it
04Tap Cancel subscription

Will I get a refund when I cancel Netflix?

No. Netflix does not offer pro-rata refunds. When you cancel, you keep access until the last day of your billing period — whether that is 2 days away or 29 days away. After that, access stops and no further charge is made.

If you want to get the most value, cancel on the day before your next billing date. You can find your next billing date in Account → Billing details on netflix.com.

How to confirm Netflix is no longer charging you

After cancelling, do two things:

01Log in to netflix.com → Account. It should show your membership as cancelled with the date access ends.
02Check your bank statement the following month. If you still see a Netflix charge, contact Netflix support immediately — this can happen if you have multiple accounts or signed up through a third party.

What other subscriptions are quietly charging you?

Netflix is rarely the only one. Most people find 3–5 other forgotten subscriptions once they actually look — streaming services, cloud storage, fitness apps, and software trials that converted to paid plans silently.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel Netflix mid-month?
Yes. You can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
Can I reactivate Netflix after cancelling?
Yes. Log in to netflix.com at any time and reactivate your membership. Your viewing history and settings are saved for 10 months after cancellation.
What happens to my Netflix profile when I cancel?
Your profiles, watch history, and preferences are stored for 10 months. If you reactivate within that window, everything will still be there.
I cancelled but Netflix still charged me — what do I do?
First check whether you have a second account on a different email address. Then check if your billing went through Apple, Google, or a TV provider — if so, cancelling on netflix.com would not have stopped those charges. Contact Netflix support with your bank statement as proof.
